Romanisasi Korea (hal penting yang wajib kalian tahu!)

Bagi kalian yang masih pemula atau masih awam, mungkin bingung dengan penulisan huruf atau kata-kata dalam bahasa Korea yang berbeda cara penulisannya padahal sebenarnya sama. Misalnya huruf ㄱ, ada yang menulis ‘g’ ada yang menulis ‘k’. Lalu huruf ㅓ, ada yang menulis ‘eo’ ada yang menulis ‘o’. Contoh lainnya seperti kata 한글, ada yang menulis ‘hangeul’ ada juga yang menulis ‘hangul’.  Jadi mana yang benar? Keduanya benar. Lalu kenapa berbeda penulisannya? Nah, inilah yang perlu kita ketahui. Dalam peromanisasian (alih bahasa) Korea terdapat 2 sistem yang umum dipakai. Kita pelajari yuk!

1. McCune-Reischauer adalah sistem romanisasi (alih bahasa) bahasa Korea yang dibuat oleh 2 orang yang berasal dari Amerika Serikat bernama George M. McCune dan Edwin O. Reischauer. Mereka menciptakan sistem ini pada tahun 1937. Sistem ini tidak digunakan untuk menerjemahkan huruf Korea, melainkan bertujuan untuk mewakili pelafalan fonetis dari huruf Korea. Sistem ini dibuat dengan tujuan supaya orang asing dapat melafalkan kata-kata dalam bahasa Korea mendekati pengucapan penutur aslinya dengan natural. Karena itu, sistem McCune-Reischauer ini hanya menulis cara pelafalan(cara membaca)nya saja dan tidak mengubah setiap kata dengan benar. Di Korea Selatan sistem romanisasi ini secara resmi digunakan pada tahun 1984 sampai tahun 2000, sedangkan di Korea Utara sistem McCune-Reischauer ini terus digunakan secara resmi sampai sekarang. Dan sistem ini juga banyak digunakan di luar Korea.  
2. Revised Romanization of Korean (Alih Bahasa Korea yang Disempurnakan) adalah sistem romanisasi (alih bahasa) Korea resmi yang diumumkan oleh Menteri Kebudayaan, Olah raga dan Pariwisata . Sistem ini dirilis secara umum sejak tanggal 7 Juli 2000, menggantikan sistem romanisasi yang lama yaitu McCune-Reischauer. Sistem ini memiliki beberapa tujuan antara lain, memudahkan penulisan di komputer dan juga mempromosikan secara terus-menerus peromanisasian bahasa Korea oleh penutur asli Korea demi penerjemahan yang lebih baik tentang pentingnya karakter bahasa mereka. Dan semua buku pelajaran Korea diharuskan memakai sistem baru ini sejak tanggal 28 Februari 2002.

Kalau saya sih lebih suka sistem Revised Romanization of Korean/Alih Bahasa Korea yang Diempurnakan karena sangat memudahkan ketika menulis kata-kata dalam  bahasa Korea itu kembali ke Hangeul, karena meminimalisir kesalahan dalam penulisan bahasa Korea. Hal ini wajib kalian tahu kalau kalian tidak mau bingung dan bertanya kenepa begini dan kenapa begitu. Jadi, apa masih bingung? Semoga bermanfaat untuk kalian semua ya!

5. Ide cerita Star Wars karya George Lucas pernah ditolak oleh studio-studio film ternama Hollywood dan setiap jaringan televisi Amerika Serikat. Tetapi kini film tersebut tercatat sebagai salah satu film terlaris sepanjang masa dengan perolehan total sebesar $4.45 miliar. Belum lagi penghasilan dari penjualan merchandise-nya.

Jadi, penolakan bukanlah akhir segalanya. Teruslah melangkah dan berjuang dengan keyakinan.
